How Do You Know SPS 2014 is Right Around the Corner?

There are a few indications that the 2014 St. Albans School of Public Service ("SPS") program is about to begin.

First things first: school's out for the summer!  Many of us at SPS also teach at St. Albans School during the year.  At the end of Commencement, there's a tradition of the St. Albans boys running through the Nave of the Cathedral and bursting out the Cathedral doors holding their diplomas.  (See photo below -- if you look closely you can see SPS 2013 alum Jack G. in the lower right-hand corner.)  That's a dramatic end to a school year!  While we were sorry to see the St. Albans graduating seniors go, it also means we are that much closer to meeting the SPS Class of 2014.

And for another thing, summer has definitely arrived!  We had near record-setting temperatures yesterday, although things were more comfortable today and shouldn't be too scorching on the weekend (but there's a chance of showers -- so maybe pack that pocket umbrella?).  Here's a link to the Washington Post's excellent "Capital Weather Gang" website if you are looking to check current conditions in DC or the forecast for SPS Opening Day: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capital-weather-gang/

But for your TRUE SPS insider?  It's all about the binders, baby!  The legendary "SPS Binders" -- containing all the great case studies and articles that will jump start hours of amazing discussion -- are in the process of being assembled.  Here's a "before" shot below!
