This morning SPS heard from speakers (also husband and wife) Gina and Eugene Adams. Gina Adams, the top lobbyist for FedEx, did much to demystify the term "lobbyist" and explain how they fit into the policy-making process and what she does on a day-to-day basis on behalf of FedEx. Eugene Adams is the number two lawyer for the District of Columbia as the Chief Deputy Attorney General, with responsibilities that encompass everything from helping the District formulate its position in civil and criminal litigation, to dealing with issues arising from real estate, municipal bonds, and economic development. The Adamses took plenty of questions from our very engaged students and left SPS 2012 with additional ideas about future careers.
