What's More Global Than a Memphis BBQ Dinner With Guests from the Ukraine?

The School of Public Service Class of 2015 has a global feel to it, with students from Somalia, South Korea, Germany, and Dubai as well as those from all over the USA, but nothing captured the "small world" of 2015 more than our recent Memphis Barbeque Dinner.  Barbeque Chef Extraordinaire (and SPS Faculty member) Mr. Stephany prepared nothing less than a feast -- ribs, pulled pork, salmon, cornbread, mango black bean salad, and roasted asparagus -- but what's a meal if you don't have someone special to share it with?

We shared our Memphis BBQ with visiting Ukrainian students who, much like SPS '15, are in DC for part of the summer to explore all that the city has to offer as part of the TEG Washington Summer Business & Diplomacy Leadership Academy.  One of our guests is an accomplished singer who won the Ukrainian version of the television show The Voice, and we were lucky enough to get a private concert from her before dinner, after a group discussion of how the current conflict in the Ukraine affects every day life.  After the meal was through, we posed for a group picture of SPS and TEG students.
