SPS 2014: An Evening with Filmmakers Michael and Gina Pack

On the eve of Independence Day, the members of St. Albans School of Public Service Class of 2014 were fortunate enough to be able to view a new documentary by filmmakers Michael Pack and Gina Cappo Pack: "Rickover: The Birth of Nuclear Power."  Parents of SPS alum Thomas, the Packs have been generous with their time over the years to the benefit of years of SPS students who have viewed various Manifold Productions documentaries.  Their latest film highlights the career of an extraordinarily gifted engineer and public servant, Admiral Hyman G. Rickover, known as the "Father of the Nuclear Navy."  After showing the Rickover film tonight, the Packs took questions from our SPS audience about everything from the process of making a documentary to substantive questions about Admiral Rickover and the American nuclear program.

The Rickover documentary will air this fall on PBS, and the SPS Class of 2014 gives it enthusiastic early reviews! Click HERE for a link to the website of Manifold Productions to learn more about the Rickover film and the Packs' other work.
