SPS 2014: "America Week" Continues

With the July 4 holiday coming up, it's a great time to keep focusing on some truly American institutions.  After last night's trip to Arlington National Cemetery and to see the U.S. Marine Corps Sunset Parade, the morning took us to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.  Our host, Naval Academy Professor Dr. Stephen Wrage, gave us a tour of the Academy and more insight into how midshipmen learn and are trained to ultimately serve as naval officers.  We were also fortunate enough to hear from a recent graduate, Ensign Wilson, who gave us the midshipmans'-eye-view of the Naval Academy experience.  After an enjoyable (if hot!) interlude exploring the beautiful city of Annapolis, we headed back to DC to another truly American place: the ballpark.

We are currently at Nationals Park for the Nationals-Rockies game, to be followed by a fireworks display.
