There may be no better place in Washington than the Newseum to reflect on the role a free press plays in promoting and protecting democracy. This afternoon the St. Albans School Class of 2017 visited one of SPS's perennial museum favorites. Our students took in the exhibits on newsgathering, the First Amendment, the coverage of major events such as the falling of the Berlin Wall (getting to pose in front of sections from the Wall) and 9/11, and even got to see one of the best views in Washington. SPS is grateful to Newseum for their field trip program that makes our visits possible.
