SPS 2011: Independence Day at Mount Vernon

Rest assured, we have not begun arming our residential faculty! RA Helen (pictured at left) is pictured on the grounds of Mount Vernon, the estate of George Washington. Fittingly, the St. Albans School of Public Service class of 2011 marked Independence Day with a trip the home of our nation's first president. We enjoyed the impressive educational exhibits (including the educational theatre dedicated to St. Albans School's own Ted Eagles); a tour through the historic mansion itself; a daytime fireworks display over the Potomac (lots of smoke, good booms and bangs, and some pretty good fireworks too); and a patriotic concert on the grounds. See the slideshow below for some pictures from our day across the Potomac.
